NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Eddie Carswell, co-writer of the holiday classic "The Christmas Shoes" and a founding member of one of Christian music's signature bands, NewSong, is slated to talk about the song's inspiration and continued popularity on radio's "The Mike Huckabee Show" this Friday, December 21. "The Christmas Shoes" is the biggest song of GRAMMY® nominated NewSong's career and has become a Christmas standard since its release more than a decade ago.

"The Mike Huckabee Show" is a daily three-hour radio program that debuted in April and is now broadcast on 190 stations in 44 states. The program covers a broad array of topics and provides listeners with news, insight and personality. "The Mike Huckabee Show" airs weekdays from noon to 3 pm ET.

NewSong has recorded 17 albums, garnering 20 #1 Christian radio singles and a GRAMMY® Award nomination, among numerous other achievements. Founders of the groundbreaking Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, one of the top tours in the world, NewSong's unparalleled 30-year ministry has been highlighted by such defining songs as "Arise, My Love," "Rescue" and the group's recent hit single, "The Same God." NewSong's 18th recording is set to bow in February.
